I will say this is an extremely good quality knife. I was very impressed with the edge on this knife, razor, sharp, but more importantly it’s sharpens back to raise her sharp again and again so much that I bought a second one didn’t really need too nice but heck this type of quality, this price I bought another one
I love my BSS-4 Survival Knife! It is my go to knife now! The knife does feel great in my small hands. I do like the sheath and how it fits to my belt.
The knife looks great and feels good in the hand. I like the sheath and how it can fix to my belt or to the belt or harness of my backpack.
Man, y'all are sleepin'... but I'm glad, cuz it saved me enough time to get one myself. I really think you need this blade... If you truly do anything more with edged tools than just opening Amazon packages, this knife is a KING. Jack Richland of Black Scout Survival LLC is a U.S. military veteran, small business owner, long-time gear reviewer, and owner/host of a large, successful YouTube channel. All under that same name: Black Scout Survival. This man is a true American patriot, and has been doing his thing for longer than 99% of us have been here. Who would've thought, years after I found him, that I myself would be reviewing one of his blades... but, here we go!! D2 steel is nothing to scoff at--it's still a fan favorite of almost any bushcrafter you'll meet. It's tough as nails, and with the appropriate care will last more than a lifetime. G10 is one of the best scale materials for durability, varying climates, and grippiness. Because, who wants a nasty cut while working? And it's also been micro-textured--giving an oh so nice purchase on the grip. It fills the hand, and just feels really comfortable. Usually, scales that aren't flush are a big no-go for me... I use my forest blades pretty hard, and I have no time for getting "hot spots". While these scales aren't a true flush, Jack has rounded the profile of the steel so that there aren't any sharp edges, or extra planes for skin to get trapped into. This will also help with baton'ing--as sharp corners won't eat into your baton, and spoil it prematurely. Yet, there's still just enough of a corner there to get a nice bite into a ferro rod... Which will be getting attached asap. The choil is great. I can get both one or two fingers in there, depending on how hard I want to "choke up". Yet, the chin of the choil doesn't protrude lower than the blade edge--this means I have full use of the entire blade edge, over any flat surface. I don't have to be at the very edge of a table, and using just the belly to get a cut in. The jimping is great. Simple, efficient, and nicely rounded. No sharp edges there to worry about... It's in the right place too--many makers get this part wrong. Not this time!! The sheath is good!! It's not your average, run-of-the-mill, mass-produced plastic-injected polymer BS... It's a true fitted kydex; thin and light, with great retention and no wobble. There's even a drain hole at the bottom, near the tip. There are plenty of attachment points for add-ons, and it even comes with a Tek-Lok. If that's your thing. How can you beat that?? I don't know that you can. Branding is minimal... for all the billboard policemen out there.. Nothing but Jack's logo--nice and clean. The steel finish is a smooth and tumbled, and the edge was razor sharp out of the box. No complaints there--I won't need to reprofile this one at all. There's a nice weight to it too. It definitely doesn't feel like a toy--this thing means the business. Jack was not playing around here. It's no surprise that a guy who's been torturing gear for a decade knows exactly what works. Bravo sir. This is an excellent piece of work, and I'm proud to own a piece of this ???
A little heavy in the handle, but good with everything else. I like that they rounded the top of the knife most are square its a kinfe that I'll take into the woods
You won't beat the quality for the price. Even having said that, there's more expensive knifes that won't touch this quality. Very nicely done???
Excellent quality and value. A good working knife, the sheath has a nice design
Excellent quality. Being retired and on tight finances, it was great to get such a high quality knife at such a reasonable price.
Stout, strong and sharp, and great length. Very well made. Kudos!
