Scout Contingency Sleep System

When the power is out, the heat is gone, you are moving between locations, or you simply need a dependable cold-weather sleep solution, the Scout Contingency Sleep System is designed to give you a compact, insulated shelter you can keep staged and ready.

Built around a durable mummy-style design, the system uses a 210T polyester ripstop shell, soft polyester lining, and 500 GSM synthetic hollow-fiber insulation to retain warmth without relying on down. The mummy profile reduces unnecessary interior volume while the adjustable hood, neckline collar, and wind-blocking construction help retain body heat when temperatures drop.

This is the type of system we designed for contingency use: vehicle kits, emergency preparedness, bug-out equipment, cabins, hunting camps, cold-weather travel, or simply keeping a serious sleep system available when normal infrastructure is no longer an option.

Individual cold tolerance, clothing, sleeping pad insulation, wind, humidity, shelter, and other environmental conditions can significantly affect real-world performance. Temperature ratings should be treated as guidance rather than a guarantee.

Construction

The outer shell is made from 210T polyester ripstop with a cire finish for a tightly woven, durable exterior. Inside is a 210T polyester pongee lining designed to be softer against the body.

Insulation is provided by 500 GSM synthetic hollow fiber, giving the system substantial loft while maintaining the advantages of synthetic insulation for contingency and field use.

A #5 nylon two-way zipper runs approximately 160 cm along the bag, allowing the user to regulate ventilation and entry.

Built for Cold-Weather Retention

The Scout Contingency Sleep System includes an adjustable drawstring hood that can be cinched down around the head to reduce exposure to cold air.

A dedicated neckline collar helps reduce warm air escaping from the upper portion of the bag, while integrated wind-blocking strips further reduce drafts around vulnerable openings.

Field Features

Two integrated anti-slip retention straps help stabilize the sleeping bag when used with compatible sleeping pads or sleeping surfaces.

An internal storage pocket gives you a place to keep small essentials such as a phone, light, batteries, wallet, or other gear accessible while inside the system.

The included compression sack uses external compression straps to reduce the overall package as much as possible for storage and transport.
