A True One-of-One Piece of Black Scout History
Every now and then, while digging through the Black Scout vault, we uncover something that was never meant to become a product again. This is one of those pieces.
This is Jack Richland's personal Survive! Knives GSO 7/7, custom built exclusively for him by Survive! Knives during the early years of Black Scout Survival. Survive! Knives is no longer in business, making these blades impossible to replace, and this particular knife is the only one exactly like it.
This wasn't a safe queen.
This knife spent years in the field, appearing throughout Black Scout Survival YouTube videos, accompanying Jack while consulting on television productions, and even making appearances in outdoor publications. It has been carried, used, maintained, and trusted exactly as a working survival knife should be.
The blade features a black nitride finish, a premium coating that develops a distinctive gray patina with honest use rather than simply wearing away. The 7-inch blade includes a dedicated ferrocerium rod striking notch, allowing efficient fire starting without damaging the cutting edge.
The brown Micarta handle features a bow drill divot, and yes—it has been used to create countless friction fires by Jack over the years. Every mark on this knife tells part of its story.
Included is the original one-of-one Sagewood Gear custom leather sheath, built specifically for this knife. The sheath includes:
- Original ferrocerium rod
- Custom drop-down belt loop attachment
- Original paracord carried on the knife
- Original hardware and field setup
Despite its history, this knife remains an incredibly capable field tool. It is fully functional and ready for another lifetime of use.
